About Me
My style is warm, engaging, straightforward and practical
I aim to create a relaxed environment where my clients are welcome to say what is on their mind, without fear, judgment, or shame.
I believe personal growth happens in a space where we get to be ourselves – the good, the bad and even our darkest parts.
I have a BA in Sociology from New York University and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies.
About My Practice
I have an insight-oriented approach
My sessions are interactive; I give feedback and offer interpretations.
I work collaboratively with my clients to support and strengthen what is already working and bring insight to areas that need more attention.
In our work together, some days may be emotional or heavy, other days lighter. What will stay constant is my dedication to being your advocate. I will listen to what you want for your life and do my best to help you get there.
Humanistic and psychodynamic approaches
I draw from a variety of research based modalities including Mindfulness, Attachment Theory and Control Mastery Theory.
I believe early life experiences and relationships have an impact on how we relate to the world in adulthood. Awareness of and insight into these experiences gives us leverage, wisdom, new perspectives, and an increased ability to make life choices from a thoughtful, centered and informed place.
I have a strong interest in the connection between neuroscience, psychology and the ongoing research linking effective psychotherapy with the brain's ability to grow and change.
